Plant Futures Expands into Mexico

Hola Plant Futurists!

We write today with exciting news—our expansion into Mexico has officially begun! We're excitedly adding new chapters to our growing international network, and we couldn't be more enthusiastic about the growth and possibilities that lie ahead!

But why Mexico, you might ask?

1. Rising Plant-Based Movement: The plant-based movement is undeniably on the rise in Mexico. As health and environmental awareness spread across the nation, more and more people are embracing plant-based diets. Concerns about personal health and the impact of food choices on the environment have led to an increased demand for plant-based products and alternatives.

2. Motivated Student Community: During our research and planning phase, we discovered an enthusiastic and motivated community of students in Mexico who are passionate about creating a sustainable future. These young changemakers are keen to join our chapter network, drive the plant-based movement forward in their country, and make a positive impact on their communities and the planet.

3. Cultural Relevance: Mexico's rich culinary heritage offers a diverse range of plant-based ingredients and traditional dishes. By expanding into Mexico, we can celebrate and promote these culturally relevant plant-based foods, fostering a deeper connection with local communities and their culinary traditions. I should also mention that my Mexican heritage and connection to the country are important as the founder of Plant Futures, and make me particularly excited for this development!

Embracing Our Roots: Chema, Samantha, Emmanuel, and Darleen, proudly represent their Mexican heritage.

Our Expansion Team:

To ensure a successful and impactful entry into Mexico, we've brought together an exceptional team of two individuals who will be leading this significant development:

  • Emmanuel Márquez: Emmanuel comes with extensive experience in the plant-based advocacy space, having worked closely with prominent brands and entrepreneurs in Mexico. His strategic insights and vast network within the industry will undoubtedly be invaluable in driving our mission forward.

  • Darleen Martinez: As an educator with a background in working with diverse groups of students and universities, Darleen brings a wealth of knowledge in community engagement and outreach. Her expertise in fostering collaboration and building meaningful connections will play a vital role in establishing strong and thriving chapters across Mexico.

We will be sharing more updates as our project progresses, including details on our launch timeline, chapter locations, and how you can get involved.

We are currently in the process of recruiting for an advisory committee specifically for the Plant Futures Mexico expansion.
