2023 Plant Futures Symposium - Day 1 Recap
The first day of the 2023 Plant Futures Symposium was a huge success! We had an impressive turnout of attendees, both in-person and virtual, and we were thrilled to see so many professionals and experts come together to share their knowledge and insights.
The day began with a keynote speech from professor and award-winning author Marion Nestle. This morning she discussed food politics, the state of food, and how we can take steps to advocate for a better, healthier food system. This was followed by a series of engaging presentations and discussions that covered a wide range of topics relevant to the past, present, and future of plant-based systems. Attendees were able to learn about trends, advancements, and best practices from some of the most respected thought leaders and innovators who represented a wide range of fields.
In addition to the informative sessions, we also had the opportunity to network and connect with other attendees during breaks. The esteemed Marion Nestle even provided some time to connect with students, answer questions, and sign her new book “Slow Cooked, An Unexpected Life in Food Politics.” The networking opportunities provided a great chance for attendees to make new connections, dive deeper into topics discussed today, and strengthen relationships within the field.
Overall, the first day of the symposium was a fantastic start to what promises to be an engaging and informative weekend. We're looking forward to another day of valuable content, enthralling discussions, and relationship-building opportunities! See you all tomorrow for Part 2 the Plant Future Symposium!
