Nina Gheihman

Nina Gheihman, PhD is a Harvard-trained sociologist and self-taught plant-based chef. Her first book is about the cultural evolution of veganism from a niche subculture into a mainstream movement challenging the food system. Currently, Nina is a Postdoctoral Scholar at UC Berkeley Haas� Sustainable Food Initiative where she is co-founder of the Plant Futures Symposium and Challenge Lab. Nina�s work has been published in academic journals as well as media outlets including Refinery29 and The Telegraph. Nina�s true passion is cooking, eating, and sharing food that is just, nourishing, and grounded in the land. Her talk and practicum will be a meditation on how a wholesome plant-based lifestyle can reconnect us to our deepest values, to the land, and ultimately, to ourselves.
